Brian Slipka

Mr. Slipka has a passion for helping Main Street business owners achieve their goals. He understands the small business owner’s desire to transition in a meaningful way because he is a small business owner himself. Mr. Slipka knows that small business owners want to make the most from their life’s work, see their legacies preserved, and find reliable advisors to guide them through the exit process. Because of Mr. Slipka’s intimate knowledge of what it means to be a small business owner, Sunbelt Business Advisors has grown to become one of the nation’s largest sellers of businesses and has gained a reputation as one of the foremost business advisory offices in North America.

Mr. Slipka served for six years as CEO of Sunbelt Business Advisors before becoming chairman of the company. Earlier, Mr. Slipka served as senior vice president and senior director and head of TCF Technology Finance. Prior to that, Mr. Slipka held sales and leadership roles at PeopleSoft and Oracle after starting his career at Ernst & Young. In addition to his role at Sunbelt, Mr. Slipka serves as the chairman of True North Mergers & Acquisitions.

Throughout his career as a senior executive, Mr. Slipka began investing in numerous independent operating companies, eventually forming the framework of today’s True North Equity Partners. Over time, starting from scratch, and with his own hard-earned capital, he began acquiring controlling interest in operating companies across varied and diverse industries. Today, the combined portfolio of small businesses has revenues in excess of a quarter billion dollars. He is the very definition of “self-made.” Mr. Slipka’s experience includes building a startup, buying existing (including distressed) businesses, selling/exiting businesses, and angel investments in numerous companies, as a limited partner/investor, while serving on the boards of many.

He is the owner of multiple types of commercial real estate, inducing retail, multi-tenant, medical office, and commercial. He founded Honour Capital, LLC, and served as the company’s chairman before its sale to Dext Capital. He and his wife are co-founders of a charitable nonprofit organization that provides academic scholarships, engages in community activities, and supports capital projects: True North Family Foundation. Mr. Slipka serves on the boards of trustees for numerous national ministries.
